The Precept is that element of your Council Tax which is paid to Skelton Parish Council.
Every year, the Parish Council draws up a budget and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. This is usually finalised at the January Full Council meeting and a precept demand submitted to the City of York Council (CoYC). CoYC co-ordinates the other demands from the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, North Yorkshire Police and themselves and calculates the Council Tax rate to be paid from 1st April of that year.
The Financial Regulations of Skelton Parish Council have last been reviewed on 20 May 2020.
