Mandy's Community Cafe in conjunction with Skelton Parish Council are holding a 'What's on in Skelton' day on Saturday 22nd March from 10.30 to 2 pm in the Village Hall.

Whilst City of York Council has confirmed its intention to reduce ( 6 cuts per year down from 12) or in some cases eliminate its grass cutting service meaning that grass verges, amenity areas and some council owned parks will become overgrown this summer, Skelton Parish Council wish to reassure residents that it will continue to contract to perform 15 cuts covering all Parish Council owned open spaces... The Parish Council last year had a visit visit from the Traffic Management Officer of North Yorkshire Police in response to the Council expressing concerns with reported incidents of speeding traffic through the village and down the 30mph Moorlands Road suspected to be mainly through traffic from the A19 to Wigginton/Haxby avoiding the usual congested A1237 ring road.

Discussion took place at a recent Parish Council meeting over the reported damage to the grass verges along Church Lane and on other roads throughout the village.
