Report speeding and Skelton Community Speed Watch Group

The Parish Council last year had a visit visit from the Traffic Management Officer of North Yorkshire Police in response to the Council expressing concerns with reported incidents of speeding traffic through the village and down the 30mph Moorlands Road suspected to be mainly through traffic from the A19 to Wigginton/Haxby avoiding the usual congested A1237 ring road.

He emphasised the need, in order to collect data, for incidents of speeding to be reported through the City of York Council website portal, the report form can be found under Travel and Transport - Road Safety - Reporting of speeding concerns or email to speedconcerns@northyorkshire.police.uk. The Parish Council has taken forward its Community Speed Watch Initiative and would welcome approach from any residents who wish to become involved by email to clerk@skelton-york.gov.uk
