Pasture Close to get a "New" road surface.

City of York Council Asset Management Annual Maintenance Programme 2025/26

Following joint representation, over time, by Skelton Parish Council and Ward Councillors, we are pleased to inform the residents of Pasture Close that the City of York Council Highways Road Maintenance Programme for 2025/26 includes the Carriageway Retread of the entire length of Pasture Close. This involves a new approach to carriageway maintenance involving in-situ recycling treatment that recycles the existing material in the road providing a comparable alternative to re-surfacing but takes less time, produces less carbon and offering value for money. From an Environmental perspective Retread typically produces 60-70% less greenhouse gases due to the use of considerably less new aggregate plus reduced transport movement to and from site.
